sound identity: grime festival

The criteria for the brief was to create a visual identity for a music festival that showcases a selection of artists from a specific music genre. The Genres identity needed to be explored across a single page site created on Adobe Muse.

I decided to rebrand a UK Grime festival named #GimmeGrime and have it located in a Multi-storey carpark in Peckham. After visually exploring Grime, I chose to stick to the stereotypical concrete colour scheme connecting with the location. My decisions were informed by researching existing festival websites. These informed decisions are displayed in the top pinned menu, staggered line up and tickets section. When designing I added my own creative twist to a stage breakdown with exploring the carpark structure.

Throughout this project I was constantly learning Adobe Muse in which made this short project extremely challenging and so the decision for the anchor points in the menu expresses simplicity but effectiveness. The most important element I found was selecting a suitable typeface for both display and text. My final choice was SF Automaton which deemed to be successful on all elements.
