Ski Resort Snowfall Comparisons

This project tasked me to choose a specific weather dataset being 'Top 3 Ski Resort Snowfall Comparison'. The inspiration behind my choice of topic is Snow sports is a big interest of mine in which I decided to visualise a recommendation guide to snow sport fanatics which is supported by data from the last 5 years. I then had to organise, analyse and simplify the data so it was easily interpreted. The final outcome had to fit the criteria of a title, key/legend and a description of the visualisation.

I resourced the data from Onthesnow.com which displayed the 3 parameters I chose, 24hr snowfall, seasonal snowfall and base depth. I gathered this data for 3 ski resorts over 5 years 2012 – 2016. I then used Sublime text to deconstruct the data and then converted it into a CSV file to be suitable to import into Nodebox, to then used Nodes to represent my data visually. Each parameter is viewed in a different colour to be able to compare statistics across the 3 resorts which is segmented into the 5 years.
